Love

Love had come into his life at times he did not need

And other times he fought for it and twice he watched it leave

What he's felt could overwhelm, destroy and drive insane

For what is life to be alone, abandon, full of shame

For whats a man who tries his all, his heart his mind his soul

To watch the things, he worked so hard, twice just up and go

The blood, the sweat the endless days, words cannot describe

The dedication that he had to loves receding tide

Common sense tells this man that love cannot be true

If shiny things and circumstance can change true loves pursuit

by that I mean that loves not gone just changed to some degree

His children’s where it can be found and in his family

This man he needs no comforting, support or caring shown

Knowledge keeps him walking down the beach of life alone

He saw the tide goes out sometimes, but knows it will return

With another chance to swim in love, to cherish grow and learn

He only hoped he'd find someone this time thats just for him

That had commitment, love and passion for the man he is

She'll say the vows and live them too for all eternity

If not she'd leave when things got tough, and she'd be number three

THE BOTTOM LINE: Better to love than lost than bla bla bla bla bla

He didn't give up, he never gave up success was not his flaw

For this defined as the ability to recover and go on

The countless times, face in the sand he'd fallen and got up

The man got old, loved to the end , and then he finally died

Tombstone reads "never conquered love, but dammit he sure tried"
